As to snow, we can add another 9 inches to yours. The most we have seen in one storm since we moved to MI from Ontario, 20 years ago.
We were supposed to go to a MG meet today in Ann Arbor (annual business meeting). I tried to talk the organizer into picking an alternate date on Thursday after a 50 car pile up on I-94 but he was determined to go forward with it today. So be it; we passed on it. Its not worth driving around in this stuff, if you don't have to.

We found a few seals. Had to walk on the beach to see them, but amazing how many there were. Even with a 100-400 zoom, photos are heavily cropped.

So, do you think that's their "Mid-Winter Gathering"?

It could be. They might just be enjoying some quite time until the sharks come back.

^ This. They need to be culled. Way too many of them now. The shark scientists have cataloged over 350 GW sharks off of the coast of Massachusetts. Greg Skomal thinks the summer GW shark population could be as high as 1,000.

Those are great pictures, Lainey. Look how fat those things are!!

I wondered if sharks are still around in these waters in the winter? Do any of them hang around? Looks like a seal buffet is waiting for them.

So, here we celebrate a four day weekend. Mardi Gras is tomorrow and I am headed over to New Orleans with a buddy to people-watch. We have a friend who has a third floor apartment on Royal about a block and a half from Jackson Square. There is a nice neighborhood bar on the other corner and it is a block off Bourbon, far enough to avoid the worst of the zoo but close enough to see some really interesting goings on. No parades, though. Too crowded and too few porta-johns. There may be pics here on Ash Wednesday (aka Valentine's Day this year.)

I have tickets to attend a cultural event and dinner at the Saudi Arabian Embassy on Fri evening. Hoping the +1 will be going with me. After I got them, he told me he might not be able to attend for security reasons. So...waiting to find out.

They are pretty much gone in the winter. Maybe one stray will stick near by. You can try to figure out how this thing works and track sharks in real time, but after three minutes, I can't figure it out.

I have a pretty good guess, you're not going to like the answer.
