Sales of the Hummer H2, the muscular poster child for the SUV craze, have fallen for seven consecutive months because of rising gas prices and changing automotive tastes. The St. Petersburg Times recently asked, "What will happen to all those unsold and unloved Hummers now that the fad has passed?"

Several years ago the freighter "Mercedes" ran aground on the coast of Palm Beach. After it was dragged off the beach, it was impounded since the owner couldn't pay for all of the fines associated with environmental damage, and was then donated to the Broward county artifical reef program. The ship was sunk off Ft. Lauderdale much to the chagrin of the Palm Beach officials who had lobbied for it as well. Soon after the "Mercedes" was placed on the bottom, a wealthy patron donated an item to the Palm Beach program - a Rolls Royce automobile! So with much fanfare, the Rolls Royce was placed on the bottom off Palm Beach as a show of one-upmanship to the lowly "Mercedes" of Fort Lauderdale.
