In the 70s I drove a Civic and then bought my first Accord in 1982. I then traded it for an Acura Legend in 1986 when they were introduced. I loved that car. It had a 2.5 V6 that was powerful and economical.
I think the new Honda that impressed me most, though, was the new (three door) Accord that was introduced in 1976. A good friend bought one. His was a metallic blue color much like the Suzuka S color. It had 68 hp, and weighed about 2,000 pounds. It was tiny, but larger than my little Civic. The innovative CVCC engine had plenty of zip and it got great fuel mileage.
My best car out of that period was a Toyota, not a Honda. I loved this car and wish I still had it today. 1973 Toyota Corona MkII with 108 hp overhead 4-cyl with 4-spd.
My first Honda was a 1983 Accord; a good 100k car that my oldest daughter then drove in to the ground.
Wow, we've had quite a few. I'll narrow it to three.
79 Prelude. It was a very cool car that was "sporty" and unbelievably reliable.
94 Legend GS It was the best of performance and luxury.
00 S2000 Need I say more, I still love the car 9 years later.
I had a "72" Civic only it was Orange. I was a great little car with a peppy engine. The engine probably would have last forever, but the body fell apart.
Well My fave was a red 1994 prelude it had 397000 miles on it before some piece of S*&% driving a cube van decided to drink coffee instead of look in the mirror while changing lanes cut me off and it met its demise head on with a guard rail...
That car was stout never had an issue with it.
