Whiskey. What's good around $60?

Wish I had seen this earlier...
Buffalo Trace Store Picks $30
EH Taylor small batch $40
Elijah Craig small batch barrel proof $55-$65
Old Weller Antique (OWA) $26 (hard to find)
Weller 12 $30 (hard to find)
1792 Full Proof Store Picks $50-$60
Henry McKenna $35
Four Roses Singe Barrel OBSV $65 (hard to find)
Eagle Rare $33
Old Forester 1920 $65-$70
Stagg Jr $55-$65
For the most part, store picks (they go to the distillery, taste a few barrels and pick one, then put a sticker on it) taste better than the regular stuff on the shelf. Cork N Bottle released a OWA store pick recently, 300+ people in line before the store opened to get it, limit one bottle. All 450+ bottles gone in the first hour. This $34 bottle is selling for $200+ on the bourbon secondary market.

My pick for $60 whiskey: Four fifths of Evan Williams at $14.99 a fifth.
If you are used to another brand it may not be your cup of tea. But it is by far the best bourbon for under $20 and can beat many far more expensive whiskeys in a blind taste test.
In a review of cheap but still drinkable whiskeys, thrilllist.com says "Some people consider Evan Williams a knockoff of another famous American whiskey, but they're wrong. Dead wrong. It's a triumph. It's majestic. Bold and milky almost? There's a kind of additional flavor that almost tastes like dessert. I really like this."
But don't believe a word I've written. I don't particularly care for bourbon. (But I do like a good blended scotch.)

One that Dave just listed was recommended to me today at the liquor store, so I bought a bottle. I may try a sip or two tonight. https://www.basilhaydens.com/bourbon-whiskey

You and I are complete opposites...I have tried none of them!

This I know. Learned it thanks to my late father in law. Nothing blends with Coke better than Old Granddad. I know it's just an ok bourbon but there is something in the flavor that just meshes perfectly with cola. (I know...sacrilege. I told you I was not a big bourbon drinker.)
