THIS Is Why I Bought The S2000!

For me, it satisfied my long term desire for something sexy like an old 911 or 356 with the "luxury" of local service, reasonably priced service and a higher level of reliability.
I treated myself to an S2000 drive this afternoon (85 deg F weather) after clearing my yard of leaves and loved every moment.

On my way to a meeting, I parked the car in a surface lot downtown last month. Came out to find a couple of guys looking it over pretty closely. Turns out they were the Secret Service advance detail for our former President native son. Seems the car was more interesting than the streets of our fair city (at least for a brief moment). I told them I felt pretty safe parked with the top down with security like this!

My avatar says it all for me. I used to love to drive but got away from it for a while because of our beltway traffic here in the D.C. area, which can be horrific. However, since buying my S, I can't wait to get behind the wheel on weekends and ride on the back roads, even if I have no particular place to go (gives new meaning to the old term "joy riding"). I've gotten nice comments, shocked looks, thumbs up and mainly grins from the folks I catch straining their necks to see what kind of car it is. Enjoying my driving life once again and looking forward to my first meet this weekend. Does anyone remember Carly Simon's (I think) Anticipation? I've been humming it for the past two weeks. I should change my handle to "Grinnin' Granny."
