I'm glad she's okay, Ray. They're just as bad here in Alexandria and DC Metro. They ride on the wrong side of the street, run traffic signals and act as if they have a god-given right to do whatever they want.

There is nothing scarier than watching your spouse crash.
Glad she is ok and sounds like none the worse for wear.

Glad she's OK, Ray.

Here's my take on those guys who forced her off the trail:

First off, Ray, I'm glad to hear it wasn't worse. But at the same time I can only imagine how angry you must be by the careless, thoughtless, and inconsiderate (and dangerous) behavior of those cyclists who caused your wife's accident. I got pretty mad just reading your description of events.

On a different note, these so called rail trails are really cool. We have one that runs 42 miles from Hattiesburg, to Prentis, MS. and another 43 mile trail near the Natchez Trace in north MS.

The bad news is that you had to post this. The good news is that the subject has the word "near" in it! Happy to learn that she was not seriously hurt.

Ray - so sad to hear of the news. Glad to hear she escaped serious injury, but as you said, it could have been much worse. I hope there is some resolution to aggressive riding on the bike trail. As a fellow cyclist, I don't appreciate aggressive behavior in such a small space.

Please keep us posted on any feedback to the media and how she is recovering.

Thanks for posting this, Ray. I hope your wife recovers quickly and fully. I also hope your letter does some good and that your efforts to contact the group of dimwits is productive.

With the exception of "old age," I know more people that have suffered life changing injuries from bicycle accidents than from all other causes combined. I have not biked in about two years. I may just sell the bikes I have or give them away. It isn't worth the risk.
