Default Would you drink the water?

A 19 year old kid peed in the city's water reservoir and was caught on camera. As a result they are discarding 39 million gallons of water! Really, would that bother you..... wouldn't bother me at all. Its an open water reservoir and I suspect an open target for many animals.

seems kind of ridiculous. As if birds don't shit in it.. plus with all the chemicals in the rains from our world being trash, i think piss should be the least of their worries... as if it doesn't all get filtered and clean. Come on!

Assuming the guy peed a pint and it all got into the water and got uniformly mixed it would amount to 1 part pee to 312 million parts water.
Depending on how close he was to the reservoir outlet would, of course, make the concentration somewhat higher when it got into the distribution pipe...but so what. Bet 90% of the people in the world would love to have water that clean.

Stock market closed, too cold [in the 30's] to do yard work or burn brush, Bruins don't play until tonight and F1 qualifying not until 2AM....It's a slow day....Could you tell...?

God knows fish don't eliminate their waste in the water. They go to fish bathrooms and the waste is ejected onto dry land. It's the circle of poop!

There are some interesting opinions over the levels of acceptance from our drinking water. Without some extensive research, I have no knowledge of acceptable PPM contamination levels or the levels of chlorination, lime, soda ash, aluminum or sodium oxide, etc. that are required as a disinfect or PH balance are considered acceptable. I suspect the pissing into the water may elevate the level of contaminates and call for more disinfectants which are harmful as well.

I don’t like the thought of people consciously pissing into my drinking water. If you want to drink it, well then that’s okay with me – go for it! I have my own mental perceptions that may differ from yours.

Personally, I feel as though the storage unit would have released the water in order to accommodate new run-off anyway. If drought was a consideration (not in this case) I would not have advised the purge and would begrudgingly drink it.

Considering that the astronauts on the ISS recycle their urine into drinking water, how bad can it be?

I don't know. I've never asked an astronaut. But I do know that desperate times call for desperate measures.

Then there are the animals that make the yellow snow.
