I almost forgot about my Garmin app and smartwatch.
It tells me how F'ing lazy I've gotten.
It also shows my golf stroke distances and where the ball landed, so precisely why I'm not on the tour.
and the bike i haven't ridden.
And if I want it can show me how my friends did.
it sort of like my own personal jewish grandmother.

I use a weather app. I like the Google maps when traveling. I use an app from the bank to deposit checks now and again. I like the pedometer for when we are walking and yes, I use the FB app too. I don't play any games on the phone. Not my thing.

For those who often look to the night sky and wonder what, exactly, they are looking at, try Skyview. You're welcome!
And in the world of boating and fishing....
The Navionics app turns my phone into my back up marine GPS when I'm in the boat. Works with satellites, so I don't need to be in cell range.
Fishrules tells me the regulations for each species in Massachusetts and updates regularly.
Fishtrack gives me sea surface temperature charts that are updated several times a day, but they are only good images on clear days. Also marine weather forecasts.

My absolute favorite for relaxing is Skyview. I've always been fascinated by the night sky. We live in a rural area in the Midwest- in the middle of 200 acres of corn and beans. Lots of sky to watch at night. The only ambient light source affecting skywatching is a cargo airport 8 miles to the NE. Not much of a problem when the humidity is low, but the light diffraction in the humid atmosphere during the summer affects watching the meteors coming out of Perseus. I'm waiting for a good high pressure cold front to move through and blow this humidity out of the way.
Otherwise- most used apps are Maps, Weatherbug, WeatherUnderground, BBC News, which I find much more informative than US news sources, and WSJ. WeatherUnderground lets you customize alerts for specific activities. We have a small sailboat on a lake in southern WI and I've set up WeatherUnderground to alert me to acceptable sailing conditions.
