Default 2003 Black S2000

My friend AlexS2200 from Ballade motor sports was looking to bring back life to his heavily scratched/swirled S2000 project.

Products used
Ultima waterless wash (his shop had no access to water )
Auto Finesse iron out
Auto Finesse Oblitarate
Speedy prep fine clay towel
UWW+ as clay lube
Menzerna FG400 W/ Megs MF cutting pad
Menzerna SF4000 W/ LC CCS Grey pad
12% IPA
Rupes ES 21 :buffing: (machine is a beast, my first full detail since owning it)
Griots GG6 w/3" backing plate
Assortment of MF towels
LSP - Black fire WDAF

The damages

Before and after

50/50 shots

Finished results/reflection shots

Total working time 10 hours

Overall i am pretty happy with the results i got with the amount of time i had with the car.

Some areas could have gotten a better finish if i had the time to do some wet sanding

And there were a few areas/defects that were just not repairable

Thanks for looking any and all comments or suggestions are welcome

Awesome work! The Rupes21 is an amazing tool! Did you do the washer mod?

Did you measure the paint before and after?

I just recently added the washer mod have not had a chance to use it yet, maybe this week end. No i dont not have a PTG as of yet so i didnt go to crazy with compounding/polishing, 1 or 2 passes with microfiber pad and Fg400 + 1 pass with gray/black lake country and SF4000 was all that was done.

Looks good! Which backing plate and what size pads did you use with the Griots? I assume you used this just for the mirrors?

3" BP with megs mf 3" pads and lake country 3.5" white polishing pad.

It was used for mainly mirrors but also the fender area where it meets the hood, and parts of the front/rear, rocker panel and trunk.

Thanks! Never thought of getting a 3" BP for the GG6 polisher. I'll go that route for the mirrors and other small panels.

I also have griots 3" polisher, i actually like that more for mirrors the power and cut is enough also alot lighter and smaller to maneuver. But sometimes that extra power is needed which the griots 3" does not have.

Ill be dedicating my GG6 to 3.5" BP and 4" pads in the near future, while my GG3 will stick with 3" and will also swap with a interior brush for interior detailing

Amazing work and results especially for 10 hours on the car, looking into doing this myself so this is a big motivator when it comes to getting the job done right with good results.
