Hey Phil - are "Costco" (and similar) microfiber towels really that bad? Or, should I say, are the high end ones really that much better?

I've had good luck with the Costco ones as general purpose towels. But, truth be told, I've accumulated a handful of the "good stuff" over the years, and I tend to save those for removing polish and buffing off wax.

One thing, before you answer - the "super plush" towel I just bought from you, that doesn't count I'm talking about "standard" style microfiber towels. The Super Plush thing you carry is in a league of its own, and I think, not a fair comparison based on price.

well the cheaper stuff is the cheaper stuff, the super plush like you said its in a league of its own.

the uber towels are definitely better than the costco stuff.

jimmy,

thanks!

Phil how do you go about washing your pads/towels?

I put them on the "delicates" cycle on cold/cold with JUST tide.
Then dry on delicates as well which is low/no heat.

Also, did you notice any difference in the 3M sun gun as opposed to the CM5300?

Does the DIC spotless really make a big difference? Can you connect it to a pressure washer?

That's all I can think of right now, but believe me, I've got tons more!

I would wash with Micro Restorer.
I do my towels in warm/cold then on drying I do lo/no heat.

If you could have both its great some of the light spectrum of the sun gun are not the same as the 5300. I have both its great! I like the 5300 a bit better cause you don't run out of batteries, but the downside of course could be for some the wire.
expect 15 minutes out of the sun gun (the extra batteries are $149 each!! ouch)

I myself don't have the DIC but I have heard from most of my customers they love it. You can hook it up to the pressure washer its like a daisy chain you just put quick connects on the end and you can put a hose after the cr spotless or a pressure washer.

Is it rechargeable at least?! I'm probably going to pick up the CM5300 soon. (next couple of weeks)
