New S2000 owner. Question on car covers. I was going to purchase a 100% cotton fleece car cover (I own one for my other car), https://www.calcarcover.com/product/...car-cover/3930

This car will be garaged so mostly for avoiding dust and perhaps possible ding protection. But the site recommends not using this cover on fabric or canvas convertible tops as it could leave lint. They say vinyl is OK. I think S2000 tops are vinyl, but some say it's canvas...

Just wondering if anyone knew for sure and if anyone uses this particular cover or have other covers they recommend for the S2000.

OEM tops are vinyl. Most aftermarket ones are canvas.

I use the Honda indoor cover on mine (over 15 years) and zero issues with it.

Is your Honda indoor cover an OEM cover designed to fit the S2000 specifically? Or is it a generic Honda cover? Do you know if they still sell them?

Thanks. I was searching around and it seems these OEM covers are still available. Seems like this is the way to go since it was made for this car and it seems like your experience has been good with this one.

 

It's a good cover and fits the car perfectly. No issues with mine at all.

 

Bought the OEM cover back when you made the suggestion and I like it. Good material. Fits perfectly. Had it for two months now and it's great. Thanks for the advice.

 

My OEM cover did leave lint on my replacement Robbins cloth roof but only after I treated the roof and failed (I guess) to let the treatment completely dry. Yellow pine pollen gets ankle deep in this part of Virginia in the Spring and gets everywhere inside and outside the car even in the garage. Never had any "lint" issues with the OEM roof.

Now I gotta figure out how to clean the lint off the roof as it hasn't come off by itself after many weeks. Anyone?

Head to Dollar General and grab a lint brush, like you use for a business jacket or similar. Works great on my canvas top!. I tried using the brush that Raggtopp sells -- it turned out to be a window washer brush and did not work very well. The sticky lint brush is the best solution I have found.
