I've used both and can't really say which is better. The best plan might be to alternate between them just in case both are unique to each other in some way.
Not absolutly necessay to do it this way but then again , who knows.?

I bought raggtopp, my top is very dirty due to living by a area that had a lot of construction. Do I just use the styuff to wipe down my top? Do I need to clean the top with anything before I apply it?
Thanks

303 is great an all... I used it for one year. It does not bead, gone after 1 wash. I applied with foam applicator.
Raggtopp Beads as if there is wax on top. It keeps like new look of the top Longer then 303 does. New application needed only after about 3 months here in Mass and that's with constant washing and heavy rain.

I like the 303 myself, but it does need to be wiped dry and "buffed". Here are some notes from a guy at the company:
Better mention this. What happens if you don't completely dry the surface
when applying 303 A. Protectant? The excess, unbonded 303 solution sets on
the surface. After the water evaporates out this excess is the liquid 303
polymer. As a liquid it retains dampness which will ATTRACT dust/pollen/etc
instead of repelling it as is promised on the label. If wiped completely dry
when applied, however, this removes the excess and causes the bonded 303
polymer to change form and become repellent...exactly what is desired.
Excess buffing of the treated surface with a dry cloth actually INCREASES
bonding, INCREASES repellency AND longevity.
I wipe 303 on liberally with a microfiber pad, and rub it in every which way, making sure it gets into the grain of the vinyl. Let it sit for a few minutes, then go at it with a dry microfiber towel several times. If I can, I wipe again after a few hours. I have not seen runoff. I think if you do, then too much 303 was used and/or the top hasn't been wiped dry.
BTW, the 303 fabric/vinyl cleaner is great for cleaning the top before you protect it. I spray it on a wet top (it is activated by water), brush it around, and then hose off. It does a really good job cleaning. Their convertible top cleaner is just a less concentrated dose of the fabric/vinyl cleaner.
