Hey Phil, I asume the only difference is that these pads dont have the dimples on them that the CCS pads do correct? Is there any sifference in terms of how well they polish. I am really thinking about picking some up since that price is awesome. Thanks. Im new to the whole world of pads.

Phil, how do they behave differently than the regular ones with the dimples in them?

When I got the Makita, I picked up some Edge 2000 foam pads at a local detail supply place. They were on sale for stupid cheap and I figured I'd try them. First thing I noticed is that the foam is considerably softer, in terms of its stiffness, than the LC CCS pads I sold with my Porter Cable.

I'm still practicing on a junk panel from a race car, but still - I don't think I like these Edge pads. They seem to be tearing up very quickly, and they absorb a heck of a lot of product. I'm also not in love with the 8" pad size - seems a little much to me. Would like to go back to 6s - maybe it would make learning the rotary easier.

yes no dimples/cheaper in price/I was told by some that they bounce less and are smoother.

Phil,

What backing plate do you recommend for the:

5" pad

6.5" pad

Can you get away with only one plate for both sizes?

I have a PC (7424).

Michael

do you know what size backing plate you currently use?
