Presidential Detailed: 2001 Honda S2000 TURBO!
This is the former S&R Racing car here in Tampa, Rob(Primogen- our best ex-CO) picked the car up about a month or two ago and gave me a call to get it cleaned up for a show coming up. I must say, Ive seen the car before and was a little nervous with all the fiberglass molding and unsure condition of the paint. The entire front end is all aftermarket and I wasnt sure how the paint was going to hold up either, since it had cracked in a couple spots due to the flexing of the kit. Basically I told Rob, that I could make the car look a whole lot better, but was a little nervous to go for a full correction and he agreed. I ended up going at it with SIP/Orange and got very good results, actually night and day but the deeper swirling and some deeper scratched remained. Well on to the pics..

ooooohhh can't wait for more, including product list. awesome job inside the wheel wells. truly night and day. while i know its a drag to not try to get the paint perfect- thats, IMHO, just one part of a good detail job. when someone does the nooks and crannies right - you know they were a serious detailer

Let me ask you a question. I have a berlina black s2000 and it has swirls just like that one and all you use on the car was merzerna sip with orange pad and then lusso? Or did you do something in between the two? Incredible job by the way..
|
No I used PO85rd on a black pad to finish it up. This is necessary on Hondas soft clear. Sorry I forgot to mention that!
|
eh. i suppose it turned out ok...
black can shine up alright i suppose naw bro - amazing work as always. and may i say starting to get pretty handy with a camera - which only helps to show the true quality of the work you do even more. any photos from the event???? and how r those cobra jr's holding up for u? they're 20 bucks for an 8 pack currently at autogeek. i really don't need any after recently buying 23 ubers from phil |
I bought the Cobras while they were in the 2-for-1 section.. ;) They seem to be pretty good, not too special though. I guess I was looking for something BETTER than the ubers, and the jrs are probably only as good as the ubers, not really better. But I needed them bc my Ubers were linting real bad after being cycled so many times...

Heres another for you guys that already looked through..

pics from the event are sick. Looks like it's about time for you to make a website billy
EDIT: wow... not too many multi-page detail job threads... nice! |
Yes, I definitely need to make a website. I am switching a few things around in my life to help my further my business. This may also mean getting rid of the s2k for something more practical and the main key CHEAPER. I will be investing into more marketing very soon.. ;)

I am technically already mobile, but its not an easy task fitting everything into the trunk of the s2k. I really need a truck to move further in my business.

This hitch is what a bunch of us autocross nutjobs use to carry our race tires around. The whole drawbar assembly just drops right off the car when not in use by decoupling it at three hitch pins, the sort of pins you use on your receiver lock. 4 big, mounted tires, a jack, jackstands, various tools, overnight bag ,a couple folding chairs - the whole lot goes in the trailer. I'm not sure I'd use an S2000 to carry around a large reservoir of water, but for carrying more detailing gear, something like this could be perfect. Not only that, but a trailer could go with you from vehicle to vehicle, AND you could store some of your stuff in it all the time, freeing up some garage shelf space. Just another thought. If driving around doing work from an S2000 is one of your trademarks, this may be a way for you to keep doing it. |
I should be trading in my s2k this Sunday if everything goes through, picking up a 2006 Ranger Ext Cab. i will get another s2k down the road.. ;)
