Hi, on a number of occasions there have been comments on using synthetic chamois, such as the miracle towel. Is this just personal preference or should I not be using my proper chamois??

I found this synthic unit called "The Absorber". It is suppost to be 20% less abrasive than a normal camosiol and let me tell you, this sucker picks up TONS of water. I can dry my s2k in less than 3 min, which is important. The less time water is on the car the better. I highly recommend it. You can pick it up at the local Wal-mart for less than 10 bucks. Made in Japan where they do things right.

A trip to a Wal*Mart might be a long trip for Ross. And yes, the Absorber or the Synthetic Chamois from Griotsgarage.com both are fantastic.

Ross. Try a search for "The Absorber" in your U.K. search engine. If you can't find a source there, let me know by email and I'll mail one off to you. If enough of you guys want one, I'll do a group mailing - just as long as I get reimbursed by someone.

Believe what you've read about this. They really are the best thing since sliced bread. I even gave them out for Christmas presents! You can dry your car in minutes, without needing to go over with a leather chamois. Here's a link to the TopNotch web page for the Absorber - although I'm not sure if they'll ship directly to the U.K.: http://www.topnotchauto.com/absorber.html

Get the absorber, don't buy the other "synthetic chamois" - they suck...

Absorber works better than any leather stuff I used before!!!

Thanks to all of you for your advice

1Y2KS2K - I have found a Meguiars website in Ireland that sell the Absorber, so I shall order it from them, but thanks for the offer of sending one.

Cheers everybody

Ross

Ross: Glad you found a source. Don't forget to post details about what you think about The Absorber, and where the U.K. guys can order them - after you've had a chance to try one out. (I recommend you order at least two. They have a lot of other uses around the house.)

Hi Ross,

Please let me know how you get on.

I have just bought an AutoGlym synthetic chamois and although it is good at getting a large amount of the water off it isn't as good at drying the car.

If you find it as good as the comments I have seen on this thread I would be very interested in getting hold of one.

Tony

I will post my comments as soon as I can.
tnt - I looked at the Autoglym but haven't yet tried it, though the leather conditioner is very good.

Hi Ross,

I have been using AutoGlym since I bought my S2000 and have been pleased with the results.

However, if you check some of the other threads, it seems that Zainos is the dogs bo%^&cks ;) in car wax products.

Tony
