Top up or Down for Winter Storage

Just wondering how everyone that lives in a snowy climate stores (if you store it) their S2K, top up or top down?
I also use a Honda factory car cover.

I say keep the top up. If you put it down, the fabric gets jammed together at weird angles resulting in creases that over time would tend to become permanent leading to weak spots that would be the first to tear or develop holes when the top is stretched over the frame. My OEM top wore out years ago and I could see it wearing as it happened. Whether you leave it up or down, though, every soft top is going to wear out eventually, so not a bad idea to set aside the cash for a new one or just go ahead and buy a new one and hang on to it until needed.

I leave mine up and have had no issues

Grab your owners manual regarding storage. Spoiler Alert: Roof up! I'll save the rest for your reading enjoyment.

Car needs to be spotless before covering as any slight dirt will scratch the finish. When I stored from November to April I cancelled the liability insurance until back on the road.

I keep the roof up all the time the car isn't in motion. Keeps it cleaner.

I read in a winterizing checklist many years ago to leave the top up but unlatched so that the tension when closing the top is maintained.

Top up, but unlatched.

Up but not latched like others have stated, unless of course outside with no cover, then you would kinda have to leave it latched!

why not latched? does it avoid stretching the top or something? I've been leaving mine latched

Preserve the rubber seals

Yep it supposedly will help prevent stretch. Things contract when cold, so if storing it in winter, then the idea is the contraction while latched can lead to the top stretching more over time.
