Wes_R x RSX type S (84 pics)
I've heard about it and Phil(from DD) said you can bring it over yourself, but you can't legally sell it here in the states. As for the CG one, I've only heard of prototype solutions being made.... for special people
love the thread. Its a great way for everyone to learn.
A few questions:
Doe anyone ever use a sheepskin shammy anymore (or is there better synthetic cloths on the market for drying)?
Where can I get the Canadian Clay (and is there a good store in Toronto to buy polishing formula/pads/etc?)
Could you explain why you use halogens? is it because its easy to control and emits the right amount of light?
What are the advantages to claybaring glass?
Do you check the paint depth after your all done to see how much youve taken off? (I would be curious to see how much paint comes off with a cut/polish like this)
And lastly, great work! Cant wait to see more pics.

Sheepskin shammys are still used but a good waffle weave towel is great, dries the car much faster and has great little areas that God forbid there was any dust after washing your car could escape to.
The Canadian Clay can be found at eshine.ca and in Toronto there are no good physical spots to find your detailing supplies. I suggest Eshine or our forum sponsor Detailers Domain, Phil has some great 5inch Lake Country pads that really help if your gonna use a Porter Cable.
Personally I use halogens because 1 the are portable and can be moved around the car and pointed at certain angles, and the show a good amount of the defects needed to be removed, but keep in mind they do not show holograms like how the sun can show them.
Claybarring the glass is honestly not really necessary but if there is anything on there it will take it off, and besides I like to clay everything I can, the rims, some interior trim, metal trim, etc.
Sometimes I have checked the paint depth afterwards and generally I find on a two step polish I have taken off anywhere from 2 microns to 5 microns which is I believe 1 micron is a thousandth of a mm. On 1 step polishs with light cutting polishes the gauge doesn't even read a difference.
Thanks, I got some more write ups coming which are way overdue.
