Where to Shin etsu?
Hi all,
Before I get bombarded with "use the search function" I have lol,
I just wanna clarify what parts can/ should be greased with shin etsu, so far I got all soft top seals (3 on each side), windshield to soft top seal (the big one that goes around, the windshield frame and next to the A-pillars)
that small rubber seal in the hood touching the front bumper, the big one in your trunk, the door to cabin seal(attached to the door that touches the cabin quarter panel when closed)
Am I missing any or is that all?

Anywhere you have rubber seals. Those babies'll plump right up like they just ate thanksgiving dinner.
Under the hood
The doors
Soft Top
In the trunk
Shit, you could even do your wipers if they've been lacking lately.

There is a rubber seal that runs along the back of the engine bay (seals the hood to cowling). I didn't see that on your list, so you may want to Shin Etsu that guy, too.
I just did this again and it's magic!

Every soft black rubber gasket! Don't use a lot. I like to massage 6 inches at a time. You really want to work that etsu into the bone. Put some music on and get ready for a few hours of massage therapy

Stops a noisy top if you put it on the latch plate.
It's also meant to be put on the faces of the rubber of the convertible top pieces which rub against each other. There is a recess in the ends of these rubber pieces which acts as a reservoir for the excess.
If you have any small leaks around gaskets, you can put some extra at the leak... for instance near the top front of the door windows. The excess shows up white. In the winter, I don't care because the top stays up for months. And I don't like being wet and cold.
303 door seal protectant might be a better option for places where you (and your passenger) might rub clothes against the gasket. I don't think there is anything special about this product, it's very similar if not exactly the same as the squirt bottle.
Before winter I am sure to rub Shin Etsu on the door gaskets around the base so that the gasket releases from the body in freezing weather, instead of coming off or getting torn.
