we had a similar post a year ago or so of a detailer who uses the product and charges similarly!

Zymol is crap IMHO, but others will disagree. Moreover, I refuse to take ANY company seriously, that sells a $1000+ wax.

What, the $1800 dollar stuff? You can repaint a car for that much money. My bodyshop is very good to me, and I can get my car sanded, re-cleared, and buffed for under $1000. This wax might be good, but I will put ANY off the shelf wax up against this one, and the shine will be just as good. There is a science to waxes, and there is a law of diminishing returns.

It was an old black Chevelle.....buffed to perfection. You can swim in the depth of the paint. You would agree it was an AMAZING shine. You know what they used? 100% pure shortening.


I have used Zymol regular person wax, and I thought it was terrible. Not even 1/2 as good as my gold class.

In Zymol's defense I guess, I was talking about the off the shelf stuff. Gold class IMHO (since carnoubas dont last very long in NYC) is a good wax, since it does a nice shine job, and is cheap....so can be reapplied without added expence. OTC Meguiars :thumbup: OTC Zymol..... :thumbdn:

I think it depends....

On clear coated vehicles I see nothing useful in the OTC Zymol. It doesn't seem to do much for the S(Suzaka blue) or my truck(Silver mettalic).

I've done two red non-clear coated vehicles though that looked absolutely fantastic with the OTC Zymol. Both had been heavily oxidized at one point and brought back. Not sure what the difference is but it does seem to work better, and have a deeper luster.

I couldn't have put it better myself. ;)

The non-OTC Meguiar's stuff is really great too! :)
