Default Rear Diff Mistake F:S

Ok so my S2 was making a knocking noise and I took it my gf uncles car shop to try to figure it out. He said he checked everything under and everything looks fine so the only thing he can think of is that the rear diff is the problem.

Before I went out and bought a new rear diff, I took my car to another shop and the guy said the same thing that it is the rear diff.

I went out and bought a 2007 w/4500 miles for $650 and brought it in to replace. Now with the new rear diff, it still makes the noise. WTH. So now they are saying we should try and replace the axle which will cost about $600 for a new part. HORRIBLE.

So I guess I will try to sell the diff.

For Sale 2007 diff w/4500 miles $650 or 00 Rear diff with 75,000 miles for $300. Let me know if anyone is interest.

Also if anyone was in a similar situation and knows whats wrong with my car, let me know because I cant keep spending money on parts that arent even broken.
The knocking comes from the drivers rear.

Ok so I just got the call and my car is all good now. It was just the bearing in the hub that was broken. $160 and now fixed. Man should figured that out before they had me buy a $650 rear diff. Whack. Anyways, let me know if anyone is interest in either rear diffs.

I have the 2000 rear off right now and the 2007 on. Let me know if anyone wants either. Ill take the 2007 off if anyone wants that one.

Im glad to see your car is better now! Don't think of it as money lost on the new diff. Just think that you can now beat your car even more now with a fresh diff

Where did you take your car to get it fixed? I have the exact same problem with my car, and 160 sounds like a good price. How long did it take to get fixed?

Well its my gf uncle place and so he only charged me for the parts. Probably he felt bad that I bought the diff for 650 and I didnt even need to change it.
