You don't need 1000 watts if you're running 1 sub's.... 500 watts w/ 1 channel is good enough. Save your money. I recomend JL audio 500/1 amplifier W6 or W7 subwoofer will blow your ear drum....LOL

well the thing is i got a 10inch sub that has 450 watts made by pioneer, what amp should i get to power that thing, plus in the future i want to get new speakers and maybe get them powered by the same amp

one channel, one speaker or set of same type speaker (i.e. highs or mids). Highly recommend powering your sub separate from your highs/mids too. Whatever amp you have, make sure it's capable of more watts than your speaker is rated at. You are more likely to blow the speaker by underpowering it. Better to have headroom.

I am running a 10' fosgate sub and a freak cheap ass amp. I wasn't looking for a compition audio set up. I am satisfied wit my setup.

I do agree with feistyS2K. You will need to get another amp to run you mids and highs. Wouldn't recommend running all your speakers with one amp.
