I've seen a bad motor mount cause hard shifts when going WOT but only at WOT. At part throttle you don't put enough torque on the motor mount to make the engine move enough to make it hard to shift...

If you can turn the engine over by hand you don't have a seized engine. If it was seized you could not turn the crank at all. If your battery is bad then get a new one and see what happens.
