jdms2000f20c ASM bumper issue

What's going on s2ki? I am making this thread because I'd just like other opinions on what you all think I should do about this situation I am in.

On October 25th I sent "jdms2000f20c" $720 for an ASM bumper. We talked for about a week or so before I sent him the money for the bumper. I am not one to buy or use replica parts, so I asked him multiple times before I sent the money if the bumper was authentic or not. He told me everytime that it was indeed an authentic bumper. He sent me a picture of the ASM badge before I sent him the money, and when I received the bumper it was a different badge. Even GOTUNING agrees that the badge looks fake. Then bumper has fitment issues and he said it fit okay when it was on his car. I wish this guy would have just been honest with me from the beginning and told me that it was a replica because then I wouldn't have bought it. There is no way a replica ASM bumper that needs a lot of body work is worth %720, and I feel like i've been ripped off. I would either like a full refund and I would send the bumper back, or he can refund me for the difference of what the bumpers worth. I just want you guys to know that there are people out there who don't like to tell the truth. I would never tell someone something I wasn't sure of 100%. Here is a convo with GoTuning about the authenticity of the bumper as well as some pictures of the bumper in question. A guy who lives in Hawaii who knew the seller also mentioned the part being replica. I sent the seller a PM yesterday, and it said he read the PM last night, but he didn't respond to me.

I would have made this thread sooner, but I've been dealing with some personal issues. I didn't mean to wait a month to make a big deal about this, but I've moved to a different house in the last few weeks and I haven't really had time for anything. Guys let me know what you think I should do here.

that badge is not correct, that is for sure.
GoTuning is THE ASM distributor in the USA so they know best.
Hope you paid with paypal, file a claim as misrepresented goods and do what they tell ya. Hope you can keep the bumper, get a refund, and make a profit out of it at least.

Damn, man. Sucks you gotta deal with it. Hope it all works out and you get your money back.

Can you post a picture of the badge that he originally sent you?

NFR_AP2 Nov 27, 2013 12:03 PM

No feezy I can't. It was on my phone and I deleted all of his messages because I was upset with the whole situation. Looking back I should've kept everything, but I didn't think I'd ever make a thread like this. I do remember what the picture looked like though. The badge almost seemed to have a gold tint to it, and it seemed a little wavy too. It was a very low light picture so it was a little hard to make out. I did see the "asm autobacs etc." on it though. I just wish I wasn't lied to :/

Have you checked the fitment pics of what it was like on his car to see if the same issues are there????

I know he has/had a lot of legit parts on his car,...I am wondering if in honesty he thinks the part is legit because of who he bought it from(if bought used,...if bought from gotuning I am sure they have a record of the purchase)
Maybe the badge changed over the years???? Maybe whoever he bought it from (if used of course) damaged the original badge somehow and sourced this one

I've seen the bumper in person man, I look at it everyday. Look over what GoTuning said again. I owned an authentic ASM bumper back in 2012. This one is nothing like the REAL one I had. I am going to PM him again tomorrow as he has not replied to my message I sent him a few days ago.

No, you need to file a paypal claim. At least to protect yourself. After 45 days the claims can't be filed. File your claim for misrepresented goods and then let him respond.

Feel free to include a moderator in the pm to him.

This is one of the worst things you could have done. Having original pictures has saved me in issues like this one. File the paypal claim NOW and have go tuning send you a picture of what the real badge should look like. The one you posted looks completely fake. As Sam said please CC one of us on the PM.
