Default RIPOFF FROM GENTEK1145

HERE IS THE CURRENT SITUATION WITH GENTEK1145. HE PROMISED TO MAIL A SUBWOOFER ON DEC 19. THAT WAS A PROMISE CONDITION OF THE SALE ( HE SAID, "I HAVE IT IN MY OFFICE, I WILL SHIP TODAY). THE SPEAKER WAS TO BE A POST-CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR MY BROTHER. BUT GENTEK1145 DECIDED TO SHIP THE SPEAKER 3 DAYS LATER. AS A CONSEQUENCE, IT ARRIVED 3-DAYS LATER, AFTER MY BROTHER HAD LEFT. THE SUBWOOLFER WAS RETURNED TO GENTEK1145. HE NOW REFUSES TO RETURN MY MONEY. BEFORE IT WAS SHIPPED BACK, THE UPS DRIVER OPENED THE BOX AT MY REQUEST AND IN HIS OPINION (AND MINE, TOO) THIS SPEAKER WAS NOT NEW AS ADVERTISED BY GENTEK1145. THAT WAS OUR OPINION.

THE ITEM HAS BEEN RECEIVED BACK BY GENTEK1145 (PLEASE SEE UPS TRACKING, 1Z 736 5E1 03 4244 800 9). IT WAS SIGNED FOR AT HIS OFFICE/HOME. BUT HE REFUSES TO RETURN MY MONEY.

WHAT DO YOU ALL THINK? THIS IS A DANGEROUS PLACE TO DO BUSINESS WHEN DEALERS LIKE GENTEK1145 ARE ALLOWED TO COMMERCIALLY SELL PRODUCTS ON THIS SITE AND THEN RIP THE MEMBERSHIP OFF. I HOPE YOU ALL KNOW WHAT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU WHEN THIS GUY SELLS YOU SOMETHING.

I NEED SOME HELP TO RETURN MY MONEY ($90.00).

REGARDS

I'm sorry about your situation, but is our cap lock button broken?

Sorry for the caps. I often write in caps as it is easier to read than those who type in small case only.

Sorry about your situation. Pretty sure it's against UPS policy to open a package before it's delivered. In fact I don't think you are supposed to open the package until you sign for it. Unless they changed that rule recently.

^^You can open the package to inspect it before you sign it. This way you are not held responsible if there were damage then you could ask the shipper to ship it back to the seller. Anyways... to the op... I hope everything goes well with your situation.

Is this a repeat thread or another offense by GENTEK?

Okay...

First off, everything is completely safe IF you use Paypal or somehow pay by credit card. Most credit cards offer some kind of insurance. But anyway, assuming you used Paypal, all you have to do is give them all your correspondance and proof that the seller broke his promise, and you're all good--your money will be refunded. Period.

ALWAYS pay by Paypal if you are not sure of the integrity of your seller. Paypal is pretty much full proof if you follow their rules. (Paypal is biased towards the buyer... so cheats will try to get you to pay in other ways.)

BTW, if you did pay by Paypal, DO NOT contact the credit card company directly, cause that will cancel any protection by Paypal.

So, do not hesitate to buy here--just be aware of your rights.
