Default Did some detailing today on the X

So I finally got a chance to do a detail on my Xterra, which I drive when the weather is ehhh and during the winter months.

All things considered I am very pleased with the results. The previous owner did not take good care of it and I washed regularly and a coat of wax a couple of times a year to try and keep it respectable... I lent the X to my brother-in-law when he was up visiting last year, DAYS after I did a basic detail... I don't know what he did but it was a mess when he returned it! Water spots, pine pitch, and I don't even know what...(it was a point of discussion with my wife and I)

I tried some swirl remover and elbow grease but to no avail.. Thankfully my wife and her family all chipped in and bought me a PC and compounds for Xmas so I can start taking my detailing to the next level...

So I gave the Xterra some love...

Chemicals and Tools used:
P21S Total Cleaner
Mequiers Gold Class Car wash
Adam's Under Carriage Spray
Mequiers Clay Bar
Menzerna S34A
Menzerna PO106FA
Menzerna APO 60
Adam's Machine Wax
Back to Black
Porter Cable 7424XP
Uber Yellow 5" pad
Uber Orange 5" pad
Uber Green 5" pad
Uber Black 5" pad
Uber Black 6.5" pad
Lambswool 6.5" pad
Microfiber Bonnets
Microfiber Towels
Cheapo paint brushes
Cheapo rags

I started with cleaning the engine compartment, P21S, Adam's Under Carriage spray, cheapo brushes and rags. Then onto the exterior... Started with an Orange pad and S34A compound on the hood but it wasn't cutting it, switched to a Yellow pad and S34A, The rest of the body got Orange pad with S34A, followed by a Green pad with PO106FA, Black pad with APO 60, and finished up with Black pad and Adam's Machine Wax. To get rid of the water spots on the windows I used the Green pad with PO106FA, worked like a charm...

Pretty nasty, I don't think it was ever washed after it left the factory...

After about 45mins of cleaning and brushing, and wiping... Better then when it left the factory...

Now on to the exterior...
Washed and clay bar'd...

Trying to get some shots of the paint to start (and failing)

Water spots that have been on most of the glass forever...

Caught my eye when I was about 1/2 way through the detail work...

So the end results

NO MORE WATER SPOTS!

Out in the sun...

Can you find the S?

X and the S

Thanks for looking!
