I just redid all the light switches and electrical outlets in our new house remodel, plus painted the garage (flag blue, if that's a color). But plumbing? No thanks. I will definitely screw it up.
Also I have never soldered anything in my life, and if I tried, I know something would catch on fire that I did not intend to.

Easy-peezey,
the observant viewer will note the left foot on the edge of the frame.
I really "get into" my work.....

Great job on plumbing. I just redid the kitchen sink & replaced water heater, summer 2015. After a spillage emergency & old water heater dying. I redid most of the copper lines, years ago. Soldering is kinda fun for me. Of course remember, been fixing guitar & hi-fi amps, since last Century.

Worse thing about plumbing is how it ruins your back. Under cabinets or under the house.

the water heater triggers two questions.
  1. is that a galvanized metal fire box around the heater?
  2. are those tie straps for earthquakes?

I assume the flex gas line is an earthquake thing too. In NY, we hard plumb them.

I've always used a short flex pipe. It is much quicker than threading and fitting short nipples.

That's interesting. I've never seen a flex pipe on a water heater.... are you talking about the same thing you would use on a range?
