On my trip to Mammoth Mtns, I picked up a new issue of Motocross Action. I haven't read an issue since 2008, I think... (gave up racing/riding mid 2005). Amazing stuff! Jody Weisel is still the editor. Read the thing from cover to cover. Think I'll subscribe for another year. Maybe, get a nice new 2-stroke KTM...
I love the smell of 2-stroke castor bean oil exhaust, in the morning. Goes to show you how long I've been around 2-stroke bikes.
Ha! Yes quite familiar with the smell myself. I run a synthetic pre mix in my bike but its got some castor base in it which makes it smell very similar. I wonder what people behind me think when they smell me. Not many 2 strokes on the street these days. Back in the 70's there was a lot of 2 stroke street bikes as im sure you remember. A lot of triples.

I was wondering why you had slicks on that KTM. Thought maybe you flat-tracked or TT'ed.
First street bike I rode was a friend's souped-up Kawasaki Mach 3 (we used to race Hodaka Super Rats in grade school). Total death machine. Expansion pipes with stingers/no mufflers. Stock worthless brakes. The thing would violently head shake at 60,90, & 120MPH. Very religious experience. I gave up street bikes until years later. Friend's Suzuki Katana GSX 750F. What a great bike. All I have to say is HP up the butt.
I Googled Mach 3 with expansion pipes and got this. Almost the same identical bike.
