Arrow Need Help making wood ramps for trailer...

Hi guys,

I pickup my trailer on Sunday and will be needing to make wood ramps to get my low s2000 on the trailer it self.

I was wondering if there was any links on How To's on building some. I know I will be making them about 6 feet long because my car is very low. I was going to use the race ramps as a rough idea of what I need to do. I was then going to use theses guide also on how to build it.

Mustangworld - Build yourself some ramps !

DIY: Race Ramps

Any help is greatly appricated!

Thanks!

Both sites stated that they are ~40lbs each. Definitely not made to be portable.

I actually just built something similar last week to get my car on a uhaul trailer easier. I bought 2 2x8x8 at lowes. Cut them down the middle to be 4' long. cut one of the 4' pieces in 1/2 to be 2'. Glued, then screw'd the 2' plank to the 4' plank. Just enough for me to not rub on the trailer and light/short enough to toss in the bed of the truck. When I was cutting I toyed with the idea of cutting my last spare 4' plank to 1' pieces and putting that ontop of the ramps to get them higher. if you made it 6' instead of 4' it would probably make more sense then. All in on this I was <$15.

Buy the race ramps. They are light, strong, and work very well. They will last you a very long time.

Race Ramps are $2-300. What I built was less than $15 and works just as good. The extra weight isnt a hassle.

Ya the race ramps I want is $300. The thing I see good about the race ramps is the weight savings. I know it won't be portable but I will be needing them i trailer the car etc.

For the weight issue, cut the wood ramps in half and pin them together when you use them. Should be easy to handle.

Yeah im with you on the price. I bought the ones pictured by OP but to be honest i couldn't be happier with them. They are easy to handle and slide right under the car in the trailer and I dont worry about them hurting the car f they were to slide around.

The portability is the biggest reason i went with them. They are absurdly expensive though for what they are.

Something I think people could do is possible get some hard foam. trim them to be a ramp and have them Linex'd and you might have the same thing to be honest
