S2000 Talk Discussions related to the S2000, its ownership and enthusiasm for it.

Is owning 2 S2000's too much of the same thing? Considering buying a 2nd S2000...

I'd love to have 2. My last car was fairly decently modded and getting back into a stock car to daily has been a dream. Ideally I'd love to have one mostly stock car to daily and another S stripped down as a track car. I see no issue having two of the same car as it seems they would be for two different purposes.

+1

I used to have 2013 S4 before I got the S. I loved that car too. Looking to get another of those on the used market in the next year or so to make my dream garage. Agree with the theory about opposite spectrum cars. The S4 is a perfect compliment with it luxury feel supercharger and heavy planted feel of the quattro.

I did enjoy having an ap2 and an ap1 for the short time that I did. Wife seemed to like the illusion that it was his/hers s2ks

My vote is for something different. The S2000 is a cool car but there are a lot of other nice cars on the market as well. If you're looking for another sports car, I'd consider a BRZ/FR-S (a friend who is a former S2000 owner has a FR-S and likes it) or, if your budget allows, pick up a late-model used Cayman or Boxter. Dollar-for-dollar it's hard to beat a used C6 or C7 Corvette. And if you want a roadster there are many Miatas out there from which to choose. Or just get the Civic R...that would be a safe choice and you get a back seat.

Agreed.

Apples to Oranges, go that route.
Get something different, in terms of your wants. Or at least, of what you want in the s2000.

I purchased my Lexus which is the opposite in some respects to my S. If I could purchase another vehicle to add into my stable along with my bikes, I would actually get a truck, which is something I could never see myself doing but have always been on the fence. Not just an ordinary truck though, but like one of those lifted mud crawling jeeps, or something

Good luck!

I love owning an S2000, but I would never own two at once. Go buy something truly different and fun.

I love having two similar but very different cars in the way of road feel. I can also mod one to my taste and let the second remain very close to stock.

My wife seems to have the very same illusion that yours did, my titles tell the real story!

Do it. It's not too much of the same thing.

Good points from both ends of the spectrum in here! I love the S2K's platform/chassis, there's so much you can do with it, I just won't make those changes to my CR... thus the consideration for another one. I am leaning towards something different though, part of me feels that life is too short, I should branch out... plus I already have an S2K so I still get to enjoy that experience, while also enjoying another kind of experience with a different car.

While I do like the new Civic Type R a lot and am considering one, I have thought about getting a Chevy SS 6MT. It seems like a cool "do it all" kind of vehicle... great space and comfort, RWD, V8 (LS3), and being able to row my own gears.

Depends on what you wana do. I dont think id lose interest in the CR if i have a Turbo S2000. A supercharged s2k to me is like having super vtec... not really anything too different from stock, but obviously much faster... if were in your spot, id get another s2k and go turbo around 500whp... that way its a completely different beast than the CR. And what would keep the CR very fun and interesting to drive would be how nice and worry free it would be... 500whp s2k beast for fun and weekends, and CR for a nice worry free cruise... Id love that.

But a different car is also an option. Golf R as a daily would be fun and a CR in the garage ready for whenever...
