Default oh son of a bi....

coming home tonight after a dinner with my wife, we were getting onto rt 495 in hudson.

BAWHAM!!! wtf was that???? wobble wobble wobble. it must have a been a huge F'ing pothole.

get over to side of road. I could here the air hissing coming out of the tire as soon as I opened the door.

it's only about 3 miles to the exit so i made the slow run for the next ramp and changed it out once in Bolton.

got driver's side front and rear rims. the front rim is actually cracked through and bent on the inner wall as well.
I think they are both scrap metal now.

looking at the bright side, at least they weren't the AMG rims.
and at least I have an alternative set of rims and tires.
and it's april and not jan 1. so I have 6 months to go fight with the state and come up with alternates.
I also need to bring it in now for an alignment and check for other damage as well.
I wouldn't be surprised in I bent some other stuff too.

Never had so many issues until we got the BMW w/ 19s.

I've had 2 sidewall bubbles in 2 years. Fortunately, nothing as bad as what you got going on there.

loosely translated to mean " sucks to be you "
The reality is that travel on our roads is always a risk; potholes, bumps, ruts, car parts, debris, etc. are all things that even the most cautious driver cannot always avoid. Despite the Highway Division’s efforts to take care of these issues, there is simply no way to discover, clean up or repair everything as quickly as all of us would like. The result can sometimes be a flat tire or other damage to your vehicle that needs to be repaired.Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 81, Section 18, is the statute that controls both what our courts have deemed “defects” in the road, and the rules the Massachusetts Dept. of Transportation (MassDOT) must follow when we receive notice from you. (Our courts have defined the word defect as "anything in the state or condition of the way that renders it unsafe or inconvenient for ordinary travel".)In addition, both this statute and the case law state that there can be no recovery for property damage, only personal injury (limited to $4,000.00), in actions against the Commonwealth due to road defects. (If the area was in an active construction zone, your claim will be forwarded to the contractor of record.)

Wow! That was a severe pothole! Your lucky to have made it home. Something similar happened to my wife years ago (only one rim and tire though) when she hit a curb on a snow packed street. With our Audi and we had to replace all four tires due to Audi’s intolerance to different size tire circumferences. It was a $3600.00 repair.
