Default Any pickup owners?

I'm thinking about a small one (pickup not owner).

Absolutely not one of those ghastly pikey double crew cab warriior type walter mitty emergency abortions

Or an ex-army heap

Any ownership experiences?

Last time I looked at one it was a Sierra derivative and I still quite like those

I liked those little Mazda jobbies too

Classic Mini - no, too tiny, too pricey, no use at all - this will need to carry reasonable amounts (of crap)

Anecdotal experience (from professional users) seems to suggest the Navara can get troublesome/costly.

Ford/Mazda ranger or of course, the Hilux seem to be the builders' choice.

Observational evidence suggests the VW Amacock only suits a certain type of driver.

Owned, used and abused a 2010 Mitsubishi L200 for 3 years in Bim until we left this year, without any issues. Useful payload and roomy load bed.
I would recommend one but probably too pikey for you.

My brother had a double cab Nissan. They came round one day and said it might snap in half and bought it back. Sold him a new one.

they are fecking tanks. The BIL has a mitsubishi. Thirsty too.

i think a yella Maloo would suit. Probably is a sierra.

Things like that are way too big for what I need/want

Trouble is that by definition these things get worked hard so most are knackered

I do buy cars needing work but this is a whole new level so it may not be viable

I know b-all about these things but since when has that ever stopped people making suggestions here......

Agricultural, practical and probably wouldn't loose you any money if bought wisely, how about a Land Rover Defender pick-up Pete?

5m long.. hmmm

the regular helix is 4.7. An old one of those might fit the bill but as you say, finding a looked after one might be nigh on impossible
