I've been using Mobil One 5W-30 Extended Protection. OEM oil and air filters. Change every 5K miles or so. So far, so good. Of course, this is what the guy said at the 10th floor --- after jumping off a 20-story building.

Walmart 10w-30 conventional is $11.44 for a 5 quart jug, Royal Purple is over 3 times the cost at $37.97

Why isn't the advice you give others good enough for you ??

royal purple is the only "fresh oil" i can read on the s2000 dip stick ....

Many moons ago, I used to use Kendall GT-1 with molybdenum. It had a darkish green color, out of the can. Pretty good mineral-based oil.

I too remember when oil came in cans, and you needed a can opener, to put those triangle shaped holes on opposite ends of the can so you could pour it.

The cans themselves were a sort of cardboard, with metal caps on each end.

Mobil 1 10W-30 for ~$30 from walmart in a 5qt jug with an OE filter. I'll substitute a Mobil 1 Filter if I don't have time to get to the dealership. Mobil 1 gear oil for the rear diff too, and Honda MTF in the transmission.

I use pennzoil platinum. I'm happy with it. I don't have any UOAs to support though.

I wonder if there's a way to ask a loosely related question to initiate people to just divulge what type of oil they use personally.

That would make a unique and excellent thread.

I wonder if there is a way to passively aggressively post in a thread to complain about the quality of the posts, while adding no value to the thread?

That would be a unique and interesting way to post.
