My wife and I drove cross country from Virginia to San Diego for my work in the S2000, and then back again a year later. Gas mileage is great, the sights are amazing. I'm tall (6'2" as well) so your legs get cramped every now and then, but you push on and are thankful for the cruise control. Storage space was the real problem so I shipped the necessary things to where I was moving. But when it comes to this car, there's nothing quite so beautiful as seeing the country in the S2000. Makes the long stretches of Texas easier - but beware the dusty clouds of lower Nevada! The first thing I did was find a place and give it a wash ofc.
I certainly would have preferred to make this trip without the hard top on. I learned the hard way when moving across the country, the safest way to transport the hard top is on the car. I did enjoy top down all the way (I-80), when I moved out west 6 years ago. I agree with the above posters, top down on road trips is the way to go. I would have especially enjoyed the Colorado river gorge section on I-70 with the top down!
Wow! That's a long haul. Just you or with a passenger?
We went up north to a friend's cabin this weekend. 2 hours each way. That was about the longest I'd want to go.
yes I have back issues and the most I can do is from Atlanta to Tail of The Dragon, about 3.5-4 hours each way. that's already pushing it!
