On your friends LX, I have a '13 LX too. A lazyboy on a tank is a great analogy. I love it and plan to keep it for many more years. That said, hope I can add a killer deal ATS-V beside it in the garage. What a ton of car for the money! Congrats again!!
Oh, you will get a kick out of this story. Buddy who is a very skilled driver/motocross guy but is now married with kids has gone through a few random cars. Used six-speed manual Mazda 6, BMW X1, etc. Well, he recently bought a certified pre-owned 6-speed ATS Coupe 2.0T. He liked the car a lot besides the engine. Well, my wife and I and a him and another buddy all went to a Caddy test drive promotion thing at the Cowboys stadium parking lot a few weeks back. Got to flog several Cadillacs including the ATS-V and CTS-V. It was free and a lot of fun.
On the way back, I roll up next to him on two different occasions. He and another buddy were in his ATS and I was in LX. I actually pulled him on the first run. Got a better launch and he couldn't reel me back in up to 80 or so. Second run he got a much better launch and was powershifting. He got scratch on the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts which were impressive. Anyway, he only had me by a car or so up to 90mph. He was not very happy.
Fast forward a week and guess what? He traded in his week old used ATS 2.0T Coupe six-speed for a certified ATS-V six speed Coupe with only a few thousand miles on it. He couldn't handle the engine on the 2.0T. Haha.
Suffice to say, my LX won't be keeping up with that one.
Lol too funny with with your buddies Ats. I am sure he is much happier with the V. That LX is no slouch for sure, my buddy started driving it on the interstate pretty aggressively and it was pretty quick. It would have been great to get some drinks with you over in Dallas, maybe next time, or better yet bring your GT3 up here in the Dakotas and I can take you through some awesome roads through the black hills! d1rtyc4r the denali was a great truck! However I just was not using it to its potential and it was becoming a pain to daily drive it around town. I much prefer a fast fun car to daily if I can. I ended up buying a $4k TJ Wrangler and have a utility trailer to tow with it as my utility "truck" and deep snow driving. Its funny I just saw my truck on the dealer website and they lifted it and put huge wheels on it and now charging $75k lol. I'll post a picture below. As far as the ATS V, I took it into the dealer yesterday to get the screen fixed and they said the part should be here today so that is a plus!
That's not as bad as the dually I was driving behind last night. Similarly jacked up but with big F off wheels. The exhaust was as big around as a basketball, pointed almost diagonally where the spare would be located. One 3/4 mudflap on the left, missing mudflap on the right. At every possibility, wfo, black smoke everywhere. I gauarantee he had a curled up baseball cap with a dip of cope in .
Well just for fun with my friends suggestion we took the ATS to the local 1/8 drag strip. I have not been to a drag strip oh for at least 16 years back in my mustang days. To say the least it was pretty neat watching all sorts of cars/trucks running. I did a couple of passes and I could not hook up for anything even using launch control. Best pass was 8.7 at 88mph. My friend who has a Evo X running E85 and bolt ons was doing a 8.2 at 82mph. So I think on a longer track I would have reeled him in lol. In any case I was impressed by how much speed this thing carries.
