Mines really clean and my VC has been refinished, but all the zinc plated pieces are oxidized and it bugs me. I'd like to remove all of those pieces and have them re-coated, but I'm not THAT motivated.

How do you guys all go about cleaning your engine bay? The other week there was an article on Jalopnik about cleaning / detailing your engine. Do you guys do something similar?

super easy, cover main electrical plugs with plastic, spray a plastic safe engine degreaser/cleaner, agitate, pressure wash with a wide fan, blow dry , apply engine shine treatment, wipe down excess. GUNK has a good 2 step system you can pick up at any auto part store.

It doesn't matter which one you use, I always clean my bay cool and I don't like the way aluminum can be blown off. The fact is there's no Set in stone only way to get the job done. Experiment and see which way you like.
