Back in Mississippi after a great trip with a really busy schedule and a ton of driving. Dinner with Ken and Nancy was as much fun as I thought it would be. Ditto for lunch with Ray and Gene. Get all the way well quick, Ray, and stay off the bike in the meantime. So great to see all of you. I just wish there had been more time to pop in on Rob and to run over to DC with at least a lunch with Deb. Next time the visit will be longer. Amazing how many friends one accumulates here in Vintage.
Class reunion was much more enjoyable than I expected and a big change from the boring event I attended 35 years ago. Ice cream at Seneca Farms is still some of the best I've ever had. B&B turned out to be a perfect choice. The Glen Curtiss Museum was fascinating and in addition to many motor cycles, bicycles, and aircraft, the museum also displayed several boats from Penn Yan Boats, where my Dad worked for many years, along with an antique inboard with retractable prop that is on loan from a friend. And the rental car was decent.Good thing because there was a LOT of driving. Best of all was time with Mom and Dad, my sisters and my brother, and my favorite eccentric aunt..
Here are a few interesting things I saw on the trip:
Lake Keuka at Penn Yan.
One of many vineyards around the lake.
At the B&B. Working early tintype camera. Rare round radiator Seen in the carriage house. Air horns not original.
Curtis Flying Boat.
And driving from NY to DE, saw this overpass in...
...Horseheads, NY, of course.
