In the S2k Days East thread we've got 71+11 people who say they would attend a fall event.

 

Sounds like fun! Can't think of a better way for this new member to begin club participation!

 

Are there already plans made for what's happening and when? I don't know if I can make it or not. That will depend on work schedules. But, I really would like the opportunity to take a look at some of the other cars and meet some of the other members.

 

I should have my car by then...I'm in.

 

jb32, I sure hope you have your car by then, I knew you were a definite from the start (if you had a car).

As for a preliminary itinerary, we can use the same basic format as S2K Days (scaled down somewhat) since that went pretty well:

Friday:
10 AM - 2 PM Meet at the Knoxville Honda Dealership (Anyone got the name of that one?)
3 PM - Check-in at the hotel
4 PM - Run the Dragon
7 PM - Dinner (location TBD)

Saturday:
Breakfast (your on your own)
10 AM - Leave for scenic drive
12 PM - Lunch (TBD)
2 PM - Drive the Dragon
4 PM - Vendor Expo (If we have vendors)
7 PM - Dinner (location TBD)

Sunday:
Breakfast (on your own again)
10 AM - Vendor demos OR The Dragon one last time
12 PM - Check out

How's that for a start???

At this time, we won't be taking any registrations, just be sure to show up with money for the hotel and meals. Also, we'll be doing
a S2KCA registration drive throughout the weekend.

The Honda dealer is Southside Honda. Give them a shout and see if they would be willing to host such a get together.

I am going to contact some of the vendors to see if they would be willing to come out and play a part in the event. I'm sure at least a couple will be there.

Also, I'll post info about it on the S2KCA web "site" tonight...(OK, it's just a web PAGE, but it's a start!).

Hi guys-

The dealer is Westside Honda (I bought Ole' Yeller from them). I know the sales manage well. John Speed and I will be stopping by on Friday to talk to him on our way up to scout some routes.

Also if anyone is interested there is an AutoX in Knoxville on Sun Sept 23rd. would be neat to have 20-30 stooks out for some "real" competition.

Friday:

The drive on the Cherohala Skyway sounds great! Send me a text description of the route so I can map it on my trip software and get a print out of the map.

It would be nice if Westside Honda would through us a little party. Even if it's just a burger & dog BBQ - I'm not turning down free food. We'll all be starving after making the trip to Knoxville.

The AutoX event also sounds like a good thing, I hope we can work that in.
