Default Cincinnati Ride 9/30/01

I propose a group Stook ride on Sunday, September 30, 2001. This would be a great opportunity for owners to gather, share experiences, and see what mods people have made to their cars.

I would suggest we all meet at Hooters in Newport around 9:00 am. This would be a good opportunity for a group photo, and then take off on one of the routes described at the below link. This is a motorcycle club, but the routes sound like fun.

I have been wanting to get an Ohio Valley Owners group organized...this could be the birth of that group.

Any takers?

Great idea - I'll try like hell to be there. What's the address of Hooters in Newport? Those of us from Louisville or other places that far will have a two hour drive to be there by nine. I'll be there no matter what time, but any chance of making it just a bit later?

Slewpy:

Have you had a chance to drive any of these routes? If I get a chance, I'll try driving the SE Route - Augusta one this weekend.

If we do the West - Ohio River route, the lead car better have a good navigator. Looks like a lot of turns on that one!

No, haven't driven any of them, yet. Got the link from a fellow co-worker who belongs to the local Miata club. He has taken the Augusta trip, and said it was great. If I get a chance, I will drive one of the others, and we can compare notes.

The Hooters I was speaking about in my first post was:
Hooter's of Newport, Ky
301 Riverboat Row
Newport, KY 41071

Did the Augusta drive today. Nice drive, roads in pretty good condition. Nothing to rough that our 4 wheel drive vehicles can't cross!

Nice scenery, mostly farms, and on the way back, you are along the Ohio River for a little bit. Lots of curves, sharp ones and big ones. Drove the entire thing in 2.25 hours, but then, I was moving along pretty well.

Not much traffic at all, and very few speed zones, mainly 55 mph for the majority of the drive.

I am definitely in!!
I live in Ft. Thomas so I am very close to the Hooter's!!!

DIRECTIONS:

Take the Newport/Bellvue exit to get to the Hooters. It is the same exit as the Party Source, which you can see from the highway. It is the last exit before going over the river to Ohio; or the first exit from Ohio on 471.

From Ohio on 471, take the first exit and when you get to the stop light continue straight (through the light, go under the levee). Hooters is right in front of you on the river!!

From Ky on 471- take the last exit (#5) turn right at the light at the end of the exit ramp. Then turn left at the next light (in front of the hotel). Follow that road past the Chart House and Don Pablos. Hooters is the next establishment on the right (on the river).

What time are we going to meet?

My husband has a Harley and has taken alot of really cool road trips. Augusta is a nice trip along Hwy 8 in KY, then you can take the ferry across and come back on the Ohio side.

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!!!
