Problem is that they can do it quite legally just by implementing zero tollerance against you i.e. next time you go by a seped trap doing 31 in a 30, 41 in a 40 etc.

O.K. Steven has a point. Let's not insult anyone's intelligence, you could be on the receiving end of some extra attention from some vindictive shit, and abhorrent as we no doubt all find that, as long as you're caught watertight, you'll probably end up losing out. As I've often said we drive a car that attracts enough attention anyway. I'm not saying it WILL happen it would be less than realistic to say it COULDN'T. It s your call Pete unfortunately.

In the example you quoted about your mate and the Porsche btw, I have to say that he and those sorry cops deserved each other. He should have been done for SOMETHING if he deliberately ran from the police for any distance, let alone 3 miles, and they deserved to end up looking like twats for the totally unprofessional manner in which they went about their job...... ....depressing!!

I dunno Pete, maybe Steve is right, you don't need any more points. I think I'll just stand back from any other cop threads and concentrate on keeping me own licence!

Ok everyone, in view of Steven's comments I'm scrapping the previously planned route completely and, this weekend Jill and I will organise a new one going further south (or north or east, as the case may be - any unwelcome lurking interlopers, please take note ).

I'll give details of this new route out at the Meet on Saturday. Anyone not coming up on Saturday, please PM me and I'll advise you of the new route by email. I'll try and make it a similar distance and, obviously, we will still stay off well used roads as much as possible.

I've cancelled the lunch arrangements with regret; pity, it was a nice place. Fortunately it was not necessary to lay out any payment up front and we were on one week's notice.

If anyone has any queries on this, please PM me.

ok...im not for one minute wanting to stir up even more shit on this...but having read all the details pete...and the fact this guy had only 2 secs to take the reading, read it, decide to do you and get to where he ended up....how can you or anyone be completely sure that THAT reading was actually yours??? ok fair enough, you knew you floored it a little to get up to speed for the new speed zone, but it is conceivable and its not like its never happened before, that the 47mph reading may not have been cleared from the last speeding driver.

i know its prob all bs...but i got done speeding once and the situation was not quite as dubious, but never-the-less this was suggested to me. i know its more than this PCs jobs worth if he gets caught, but as cedric said..you drive this kinda car you are gonna get picked on. you never know..hmmm nice silver sports car coming down the hill...easy meat...look at the car...of course youre guilty!! if this PC is going home with not much success youre more likely to get it than granny in her fiesta!

dont mind me...i just get very paranoid when it comes to these kinda traffic offences. sadly even if this were true...you have NO way of proving it. unless somehow you can get a record of the people he caught there that day. would be kinda ironic if the last guy was done for 47 too!!!

Just seen this thread! At the risk of inviting everyone to post their sob stories - I can beat this by a country mile.

I was reported by a motorist I was supposed to have passed on a stretch of road marked by unbroken white lines in the centre. The road is deristricted (which here means there is no speed limit at all) and this was a case of my word against the other driver. There were no independent witnesses, no policemen present and no accident. What's more, I know for an absolute fact (and everyone here has to take my word for this) that I have never performed the manouvre claimed - it really is too dangerous.

Now this is bad enough, but I didn't get to hear about the complaint at all until 13 days had elapsed. How many drivers on this forum or on the planet can recall exactly what they had done on a 200 yard stretch of road nearly 2 weeks ago?

I was threatened with a dangerous driving charge (which carries a 12 month minimum ban here) because the jealous/bigoted/mentally retarded complainant described what I was supposed to have done as the most dangerous thing they had ever seen. I had no defence, because in truth I couldn't even recall any incident (who could?) and ended up with a

An Island where jealous people can make trouble for you with the Police - I have to say, I've wondered whether I shouldn't sell the S2K as a result of this. I certainly wouldn't have been done if I was in a Fiesta
