- VAFC

This might be a cheaper alternative to get more power than the expense and reliability/warranty issues of a supercharger or turbo. I know the NA route won't give the same power increase that a FI setup will, but it would come at about 1/2 the price...........especially since a reasonable amount of people have an aftermarket exhaust already.

Keep up the good work..... I'm very interested to know your progress.especially with the OEM ECU.

Cheers,
Actually, all that would probably cost as much as a s/c.

Actually the J's gears are my next step. That's the one thing I keep meaning to do but always decide to do something else. Funny, because the gear change will probably make a nice difference too.

Maybe in June or July... We'll see.

I think we can get more out of HAMS cams with
1. More tuning on the EMS
2. More air flow in - better intake setup
3. Better header
4. Straight out single exhaust
Guess we will see what I have left laying around after our next shipment of goodies...

Did you change your exhaust springs with the intake springs?? I was thinking about this and wouldn't you have to take the head off to change the springs? If so, changing the cams to the Toda setup would be a huge pain in the ass for the average guy...

Anyways, I switched out my cams last night with my custom cams and it took me less than an hour (30-45 minutes!) to switch the cams out.. no big deal.

Also, I adjusted my intake valve to 0.08 and my exhaust to 0.10

We did not swap out the springs, yet, due to time constraints. You can do the job without removing the head if you have the tool which allows you to pressurize the cylinder and thus keep the valves from dropping. Kills the back, but better than pulling the head assembly.

I remember seeing a diagram of a spring compressor and it looked like it had to grip on to the bottom side (chamber) of the head to install a new spring.. I am curious about how many shops are capable of doing this? Also, does the car rev to redline OK with out installing the intake springs?

I already have the intake springs on the exhaust side on my engine based on Toda's suggestion (I was riding off of their research!)

Snap On makes a "kit" that attaches to the head. It consists of a bridge and then a tool which you use to compress with leverage the spring, to remove the keeper. Reverse the process. You are probably thinking of a typical muscle car spring compressor or what not.
