Paint Shop can't match NFR
I hate to revive this old subject, but I know I'm not the only one who has experienced this. So we've all heard these myths about NFR being a single stage or having a tinted Clear, right? My AP1 was backed into and I took it to a shop with a good rep to repair and repaint my rear bumper. They work on higher end cars so I thought I could trust them. Drove an hour to them just cause I couldn't trust any shops in my area. When I went to pick it up the paint was way off.
I told the guy in charge that I wanted it redone and that I had heard about the tinted clear coat. He said it isn't true cause he has never heard of it. Just did some research and found a guide that confirms it. I'll post it in case any one else ever needs it.
I left the car with the shop again and they agreed to repaint it but since it's the weekend I'm waiting for the guy to call on Monday. My next move is to send that picture to him and hope they can figure it out.
Anyone else experience anything similar with this paint?

It's still at the paint shop. I went to pick it up yesterday and that's when I noticed the paint was off. Told them to hold the car for the weekend and work on in next week. Hopefully they can get it right.

really? In person it was worse I guess. Because as soon as my dad and I walked outside we both noticed. And when I told the worker he noticed right away too. If it was atleast close I would just keep it that way.

Yeah, the issue is that they just went off the factory paint code. The paint in the rest on the car is almost 15 years old so they have to change it up a bit to try to match what it is now.

what ever you do, do not blend it. like vasquez said, bumper matieral will never truly match metal when painted. tell them to do a LOT of test panels before shooting the bumper again.

Yeah I think it'll still be noticeable if they blend it in. And yeah I'll let them know about the tinted CC and to add more or less red in the clear until it's as close as they can.
