Default To charge or not to charge , that is the question !

Hi all ,

on a daily basis i go from wanting to supercharge my s2k , back all the other way and not wanting too !!

To people who have charged : worth the hassle/cost/possible issues?

To people who have thought about it and decided not too: why did you come to this conclusion?

Along with the basic charger kit ( charger unit / injectors/ fuel pump/ecu) what else is essential to run a safe reliable boosted s2k ?

I believe i have a very nice s2k ..... 27k miles full honda history and in very good condition . Is this the perfect car to charge or in peoples opinion to nice a car to moddify so much ?

i have already added ohlins suspension and a AP racing brake upgrade

Anyway people .... Help me decide

appreciate everyones thoughts

Leave it alone (you've already done too much to such a low mileage car).

2-0 Keep it mint and keep the value, or at least keep the original parts so it can be restored.

Do it, the engine can take it and it's a great platform providing its done right/tuned etc etc.

Turns the car into a luke warm sports to a weapon and you'll love it even more.

I prefer the torque of the turbo over the sc setup a turbo, a turbo s2000 will always be faster in a straight line vs sc.

2-1 so far ......

talking numbers then ,

whats my car worth at the moment completely standard ? 13-13.5k ? ( 04 plate 27k full Honda history, mint and hard top )

Ive already spent 3k on it

to charge is a further 6-7k

so id be in 21-22k once charged ...... then I guess what's people's opinions on what the car would be worth once charged and with the brakes / suspension? 17k ? Or am I right out ?

It won't be 21/22k once charged. It will be less as it's modded. You'd need to consider all the insurers who won't touch you and that your premiums will be considerably higher.

Having said that, charge it (of course I'm bias) but only if you plan to drive it. Otherwise, what's the point. Wait a few months and you can have mine!

I think the prices are right but that won't make your car increase in equal value as a result.

Me - probably going Westie MegaS2000

IMHO boost for road use is a waste of money. Suppose it depends on how much scene points are worth to you?
