Default AP2 Springs or Eibach Pro Kit with Koni Yellows?

Hi Everyone,

I've recently been combing through old threads about which springs to pair with Koni yellows. I recently purchased Koni's and I've had the car lowered with Eibach Pro Kit springs.

I know that the pro-kit has slightly higher spring rates than my stock ap2 springs but i've read a few times where people are suggesting to use the stock springs with the koni shocks.

If I already have the Eibach Pro Kit is there a reason why I would my stock ap2 springs? are they a better pair?

Thanks,

Chris

Depends on what you're after.

The stock springs make the ride height taller...and Konis work better at taller heights (more travel), if you're trying to set it up for more compliance.

Is there something wrong with how your car rides/performs? Are you trying to improve a certain aspect?

I understand that with the Koni's softer than stock compression damping, stiffer than stock springs tend to prevent excessive nose dive.on braking, etc.

Have the Koni's with the C/R springs and love that setup. I don't worry about bottoming out on driveways any more. Either way would work man. Later BD.

The cr springs work so well on the Koni's since the cr springs are much stiffer than stock non cr, yet they are not lowered. Ideal setup for koni if you don't want low.

I ended up using my eibach pro kit springs. The spring rates are slightly higher and I kept the spring perch on the top setting on the Koni's so its still lower than stock but have as much travel as I'll get.

The suspension with just the springs felt really bouncy in the back. Going over dips in the road at high speeds felt really sketchy and the rear seemed a little unstable. I'm running the Koni's at half stiff right now and everything seems to feel better. Working to dial the settings in a little better as time goes by.

The Pro kit with Eibachs is a good setup. Should ride better than stock. Don't get too greedy with the damping adjustment. It may feel sporty, but you will actually pack down the suspension.
