Default How many original owners left?

there isn't a month where i get stopped when someone ask what year, how many miles, and are you the original owner. most recently an older gentlemen followed me all the way to a parking lot in his IS-F to ask if i would consider selling, which caught me and the wife off guard cause the top was down and he started with, "man i followed you for 5 miles". even after hearing my miles of 185k and that ive had her since 2 miles he offered $20k (cashiers check). he said its getting harder and harder to find a clean (non modified) original owned S2000.

don't know how many of you are still left, but she's been great with no major mechanical issues since 2006. changed oil every 10k with mobil 1 synthetic starting at 1000 miles, and every 45k a full system flush of tranny (honda mtf), diff (mobil1 syn), brake and coolant. only other maintenance items were valve adjustments, replaced all 4 shocks with oem at 160k cause the left rear was leaking, the hex bolt leak and rear wheel axle nut. only non oem on the car has been the robbins top that's 2 years old and new seats with red stitching that was done at the same time.

i was doing about 16-18k a year and i knew i couldn't keep doing that for another 10 years so i got a new daily cause i have no plans in selling. i drive her now only on the weekends and since april i've only put 2000 miles. i start her in the garage every few days and drive her twice a week which makes the experience that much more enjoyable when i do, and not that i didn't before because there is nothing that comes close to sitting and driving an S2000 ive found. there is no past or current car that comes close.

Original owner since February of 2002, 135,000 amazingly wonderful miles. I am lucky to live in an area of the country that I can drive my S all year round. Track days, countless runs to the North GA mountains, many events at the Tail of the Dragon, and a couple AutoX events thrown in to round out the fun. I can't imagine not having an S2000 in my garage. My car has always been bone stock but very well maintained. Never been to a car wash, always hand washed. On my second top, original top was replaced at 35,000 miles by the dealer (only time the car has been to the dealer for a repair).

Great to hear!

haven't been a regular to the site the past few years but after coming across people that wanted an S made me wonder how many original owners are out there. the owners ive met recently was either 2nd and 3rd owners, and also owners who sold their S and regretted it later. ive always thought the S to be a one of those life long keepers, especially today when its harder and harder to find a naturally aspirated high revving car.

anymore out there?

14 years here. Hundreds of autocross events. Trips as far south as Alabama and as far west as Montana. The only parts replaced due to failure are the clutch and the battery. Fantastic car!

I'm technically not an original owner but I have had her since 2012 with only ~1600 miles on the odo...not even broken in yet. I've had no issues since then...only people trying to buy the car every now and then even though it is now heavily modified to my taste. I don't drive it as much as I once did but the yearly two to three trips to the Dragon and numerous track days and events keep this car just as exhilarating to drive as I first sat in it and waited for break in to be complete. Now it sees weekend duty and a weekly trip to the office. In the past 60k miles, its been boosted the entire time with regular maintenance only and no issues. Its been as far north as Toronto and as far south as Key West. I can't wait to take it cross country some day :-)
