Scary stuff. My Dad had a '59 Chevy.

Let's take a moment's pause, to thank all those Crash Test Dummies who gave it all... for our safety.
One of the funniest (at least, for me, at that moment) silent comedy scenes, was on Dave Chappelle's old show. He's hitchhiking through the desert and NO ONE picks him up. Then this oddly colored car stops. It has black-&-white discs painted all over it. And a CTD driving.
Dave shrugs his shoulders and gets into the car, "better than standing in the heat." Next scene is a stock NTSB video of that car crashing into wall. Well, I thought it was funny.

My take on the video is to not run your '59 Chevy into a '09 Malibu. There, problem solved!

Nice progress in safely. I was surprised how the old car crunched.

Hey that's my favorite cycling jersey
Sadly none of the crash test dummies ever walk away from their crashes.
But seriously they love to put crash test up on you tube, I just wish they would put up the telemetry data along with the crash.
How many G's and the impulse data. that's what you really want to see.

I'm not sure that I understand the point of this exercise. Even before the test I doubt that anyone living or dead didn't know that modern cars, with airbags, crumple zones, and other safety features, are much safer than those of the past. This exercise only illustrates the obvious.
As for them not making them like they used to, I can only say that goodness for that.
