Default Best roll bar for a tall person

Hello,

I am looking to add some safety to my 2003 Honda S2000 and I am searching for a roll bar that is safe for someone 6'3". Any recommendations are welcome and appreciated!

Funny you posted this a friend and I were just debating this issue! At that height you may need something custom depending on your seat selection and/or position. If you have a soft top though I still think you may be limited due to the constraints of the soft top. If you have a hard top I think you will have more options by going custom.

My RSG DD has a few mm clearance to my replica hard top. Not sure how much better you can do. What top do you have?

I have a factory soft top and I wasn't planning on changing it out. I can see where the hard top may give more clearance, however. Has anyone ever used the Ballade Sport loops that have harness mounts? Maybe they would be a safer option that would still alow some clearance for me? The other bar I looked at was made by Cusco, but I think that may kill my h ad clearance

Cusco/HKS/etc JDM roll bars are 35mm. If you ever want to run a NASA/SCCA/etc time attack, track trials or any other event that requires a rollbar, they most all require a minimum of 1-1/2" tubing,
which is 38.1mm.

You'll gain more headroom by installing one of those super-low seat mounts with a lower than stock seat. I think the molded fiberglass or carbon fiber seats can get lower than the aluminum Kirkey type seats or the entry level seats with steel frames.

Thanks for the recommendation! I have been looking at some Sparco FIA-Approved bucket seats and low mounts. .

Gosh whatever you do don’t go with a Cusco or similar bar, even that Ballad thing you were referring to, do a proper rollbar.

MAYBE for autocross but for real track work, get a legit roll bar or cage.

What's the reason for the roll bar?

Honestly some additional safety for when the car is on the track. I had never heard much about the Cusco product, but it sounds like many people on here are not big fans

Get the Harddog DD with harness bar. Others might disagree, but pay the little extra to get Harddog over the RSG. They designed it and got ripped off. Support the small companies that support us.
