Default Square or Not Square? Advan RG-D2

Sorry if this has been asked already but I'm looking for a new set of wheels and am now considering going square (though I'm still leaning staggered simply because I know it works). I'm currently 225/255 on CR springs and Koni Yellow on the lower perch. Even staggered I rub the LF fender lining on the track. I do not want to roll fenders. I'm looking at Advan RG-D2 (machining and darkgun metallic) 7.5" x 17" +48 and 9.0" x 17" +62, considering 9.0 all around, not that the particular wheel matters all that much. But I'm wondering if anyone in on CRs, Yellows, and who tracks their car can give input? I need to pull the trigger soon. Thanks!

If you're not willing to roll your fenders you will rub, especially on 9" wheels unless you run a ton of positive offset. But then you're narrowing the footprint of your car probably decreasing the amount of traction in turns. Roll your front fenders, as long as you get it done properly its not damaging anything really. The range of wheels/tires you can run on factory fenders is very limited. And I'm sure others can attest, the feeling of the car is drastically better on a square 245/255 setup. The car turns in so much better with more control and predictability on turns.

Again, CR springs, Koni Yellow (lower perch), -2.1 camber (currently rub LF slightly on track). Options with RG-D2:
1. 7.5" +48, 9.0" +62...225/255 (know this works)
2. 8.0" +54, 9.0" +62...235/255 (a little more meat up front)
3. 9.0" +62, 9.0" +62...255/255 (one tire size is easier but will it rub?)

The rears will fit fine. The fronts rub because you are lowered and during a hard turn on the track the wheel is turned and the body roll of the car cause contact. Stiffer springs would help limit this but really nothing will completely solve the issue. If you put wider wheels in the front with wider tires this problem will only get worse. Once it rubbs through that liner it will grab the fender and cause damage so frankly the easiest solution is roll the front fenders and call it a day. You could raise the car up and that would help limit this from happening as well.

Yeah, sticking with the 7.5/9.0 is probably the safest bet.

I have a spare AP v2 square rear rim, if you're interested.

9 +62 all around wont rub up front if you run a 245 with a reasonable ride height and alignment. Its the same outer fitment as a 7.5 +43 for reference.

It is less likely depending on ride height but if he is already rubbing with the current wheels it will rub with 17x9 +62 and lowered.

Good point. I'm running Volk CE28N 7.5+50 and 9.0+63. I've got a damaged rear that cannot be repaired so I'm looking to move on.
