Question Dash Cam Placement

I have seen older threads but they are outdated

For those of you who use Dash Cams, where do you place them?

When I purchased my S, I have my alarm guy install a dash cam and it works fine and all. However, now that the weather is getting warmer, the 3M tape is not holding up that great so I decided to take it down before it falls and breaks. Now I am trying to see where to put it.

Any suggestions/recommendations are highly appreciated

I have my Blackvue dash cam mounted just below the rearview mirror bracket.

I have it mounted with the Blackvue supplied tape (not sure who makes it)

(link: https://www.blackvue.com/product/rea...mounting-tape/)

This tape has worked with out issue in 2 of my cars (exposed to Texas summer temperatures)

I have the same one, however, the adhesive started to fade so the camera started to fall so I took it down for now.

Are you using the original adhesive that came with the camera?

Hey man, I updated my old DIY dashcam that was missing the photos. I don't have time now, so I just uploaded the album with all the photos. Hope it helps!

Unrelated question. Do you have any issue with the weight on the mirror using that radar detector blendmount?

I installed a Gentex frameless auto-dimming mirror, and installed a hardwired dash cam at the same time. I located the dash cam so that it's obscured behind the rear view mirror, but I can still access the buttons from underneath and, more importantly, I can easily retrieve the micro SD card from the side.

No, I have not issues at all and sometimes when I am at work (Private parking) I leave the radar detector on the blendmount and the mirror never moves.
