Default upper vs lower ball joint

Hello,

i've serached many topics. But i can not find what is the difference beetwen upper adjustable ball joints (like SPC) and lower adjustable ball joints (like Buddy club).

The reason why i need ,either lower or upper adjustable, is for getting more negative camber (would need aditional -1,5*). Only at front.

Buddy club also play as roll center adjuster. I am lowered about 1-1,5".

Please help me to choose which is better for me; as they are both camber adjustable. What happens when i change lower, and what happens when i change upper?

Thank you

Upper ball joints, like SPC, allow for additional camber and adjustment. Lower ball joints give a fixed amount of extra camber, plus some have a roll center adjustor plate you can add in.

Lower is easier to install, upper adds more camber.

Thanks.

But look at this, Buddy club has also adjustment.

I need to add 1,5 deg neg camber. And this has rough changes.

So you would recomend SPC?

Since you are lowered you might as well get the lower offset ball joint with the roll center plate. Megan makes a good one and is probably the least expensive quality option. I'm running these myself. You can get a upper ball joint or whole adjustable control arm, and they will give you adjustment without effecting your track width since they just pull in the tire from the top. They wont offer any roll center provision. Keep in mind, with the roll center plate added in if you go with that option, you need to raise your coilover height to capitalize on this, since your ride height will drop once you put this in, as it should. The idea is it raises the wheel from the spindle effectively lowering the car, so to get the roll center attributes, you raise the car back up and this re configures the lower control arm geometry from where it was before you lowered the car. Keep in mind though that the roll center plate is only about 3/8' so its helpful but not like you will get back to anywhere near stock lower control arm geometry.

Thank you all.

I also got an answer from Rob.

I will go with lower ball joints + RCA.

Should i also buy Front bumpsteer kit also (steering rack spacers), or will lower RCA fix that?

They are independent of tie rod adjustment so yes buy the spacers.

upper joints make wheel clearance possible with minimal camber.

So if you're doing this to clear the fenders...probably buy uppers.
