Smile Winter blues - what're you doing with your S2000?

Many of us in the northern areas now have our beloved cars in storage... and, as expected, the forum has become quieter.

Those of you in year round driving situations... It's your sacred duty to remind us how awesome our cars are.

What's going on with you/yours? At this point I'd be happy just to sit in it and make Vroom Vroom noises.

I drove mine today but it will not see much action as we are getting snow this weekend. I bought an LED light conversion kit to swap into the high beams, which I'll probably do this weekend.

Well...someone hit my s 2 days before Thanksgiving

So:
  • Painting a new Fender, Door, Mirror and blending
  • Replacing the fuel Pump with Walboro 255 while its apart for FI later
  • Restore my leather and fix my bolsters as I had not gotten around to it, but hey the car is apart why not now?
  • replace my driver mirror actuator
  • replace door cards with 06+ cards for storage
  • finish wiring the sound system & amp.
  • replace foam with 3M Thinsulate
  • do the js2k and qube led conversion sitting here
  • put the car back together, and install bottom aero
  • put it on jackstands and hope wheels come before spring
  • remove and refinish the calipers and suspension bushing and arms.
  • if wheels come before spring, order and install SGB fp spec long stroke ohlins, and spend some time corner balancing and setting up the car

Long list, but.. IllI see what I can do before I feel the need to drive it and can't resist..

Just bought a JDP rear diffuser! Also waiting on Downforce CF side splitters in production. Should be some nice carbon to accent the Berlina blacked out look I have going on currently.

Hitching up the trailer this morning and heading to the lumber yard; top-up due to the cold.

Going to need new shocks by spring, at over 70K miles.

This will be my first winter owning an s2000 and storing a vehicle. I'm also not useto having a weekend racer (02 Suzuka blue) and daily driving something practical. Since putting the S away after driving it all summer long I've realized that there's not much I want to change about the car. Ofcourse being the enthusiast I am i swapped the OEM exhaust for a dual 70RS by Js Racing. But after that I felt content. 7,000 miles later I get to look at her in the garage and i feel the urge to start making upgrades. But where it's damn near perfect!?! The car has about 94k and ride quality is still awesome on the OEM shocks, but I want to be lowered now. So I'm in the middle of deciding whether or not I'm going to buy Swift lowering springs or EVS series Fortune Auto coilovers since I would like these down the road anyways. Still thinking.. but anyway this winter I will continue to comb through the car and prioritize what needs replacing and or upgrading. I just hope this spring comes early.

Oh and I ordered a set of falken azenis rt615k to throw on next season, should be a major upgrade from the good ol sumitomo's lol.

Jeez I'm really sorry to hear this. Good luck getting getting the Lemon Peeler (this is an endearing term from the OLD Schwinn Stingray days) back out on the road and looking like new once again soon. I have no doubt that you will.

Thanks everyone that wished my S better. Thankfully it was no frame damage, and even though the guy ran the red light, it turned more into a side swipe. So the door skin and fender and mirror were toast.

Now its apart, I trailered it yesterday to the shop with the booth, to work on this week.

As it wouldn't have been a good look trying the rest of the week.

So yea... my list up there is pretty much my game plan for the winter now.

Again thanks for the condolences, but its giving me time to make it better.

I'll do my best to get out and about on a regular basis for you snowbound folks. Currently 76deg and slightly overcast. Lunch in 11 minutes...
